How Post-Transaction Codes Work
The Fan Experience
- A buyer completes a purchase through the primary (Initial) Offer.
- A confirmation email is automatically sent with their Post-Transaction Code and a link to the secondary (Redemption) Offer.
- The buyer clicks the link and redeems or purchases additional inventory using the code.
- A confirmation email for the secondary Offer is delivered after redemption or purchase.
This seamless process keeps the momentum going and enhances the fan experience by providing instant incentives.
Setting Up Post-Transaction Codes
Step 1: Build Your Offers
- Create Your Primary (Initial) Offer - This is the first offer a buyer will purchase from. If your offer isn’t part of a scheduled event—like a Flex plan—just create it as its own separate event.
- Create Your Secondary (Redemption) Offer - This is where buyers will redeem their Post-Transaction Code. If multiple games or offers are available for redemption, we recommend bulk-building the redemption offers to streamline the process.
Step 2: Configure the Post-Transaction Discount Type
The Post-Transaction discount type allows you to generate discount codes that are valid for a second offer (Redemption Offer). These codes are included in the confirmation email sent after a buyer purchases the Initial Offer.
Once you've selected this discount type, you’ll just need to fill in a few simple fields to finalize setup.
